My mother, Bessie Hazen, is in one of your five private care homes. I came to visit her March 10th, 2009 to March 25th. I cannot find enough words to tell you how satisfied I was with the care the staff is giving to mom. Mom has been in three other Alzheimers care centers and did not receive nearly the care she is receiving now. Nor has she been kept as clean as she is now. My brother is her primary care taker since I live in Ohio. He keeps a vigilant watch on her as he is there almost every day to feed her and visit her. While I was there to visit mom, I never once smelled any odors. Mom's hair was clean and her skin was well lotioned. For the first time I did not see any dry or flakey skin on her. The staff was extremely friendly and very loving to all the residents. You cannot imagine how much this meant to me. This was the first time I left from my visits with mom without crying and thinking this might be the last time I would see her alive. Tess even cooked a going away dinner party for me. You cannot imagine the feeling and love this gave me. I felt like I was part of the family. My only wish was that my brother Greg Potiris would have found you sooner. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. May you continue to grow and pass on the wonderful care that you all give to even more residents.

I was the person responsible for an elderly uncle who lived in Kansas. He had become ill and was in a convalescent hospital. I decided he needed to be close to me so I could monitor hi care. I was referred to Young At Heart as well as a couple of other agencies. I was certainly glad i choose Young At Heart. My uncle arrived in horrible condition. It was obvious that without someone to advocate for him he had not been given adequate care. He was physically weak and mentally confused. The staff at Young At Heart was wonderful with him. He began to regain his strength. The daily house staff is caring and conscientious. I visited my uncle for the year he was a Young At Heart at any time of the day and found him to be clean and well cared for. Lillian's background as a nurse was very helpful and besides being very kind; she saw that he received the medical attention that he needed. I am writing to thank you for the wonderful care both you and your staff are giving my Mother. Caring for someone with Alzheimer's and dementia is difficult and challenging. My Mother had been in three different facilities over several years before coming to Young at Heart. They were unable to give the care and attention that she receives from you. At Young at Heart she is in a real home not a facility. She is more attentive, alert and interactive because she gets care and attention from the staff. The home and grounds are really nice, clean and attractive. We know she is safe and secure. The food is exceptional. The services you provide to ensure her medical health are greatly appreciated. There are many activities and every year you throw that wonderful Christmas party. This is well beyond what you would expect or receive from most care facilities. My family greatly appreciates the care our Mother receives from Young at Heart. It gives us peace of mind to know we do not have to worry about her well-bring.
